Foundations in Faith

We looked for an arts/play-based preschool in Raleigh, and believe me, there aren’t many! TBO Preschool gave us that and exposure to a new religion. Our entire family has benefited from this education – Erin attends Shabbat on Fridays, and my second grader is jealous!  This was the exposure I was hoping our children would have at a young age because they have a respect and appreciation for Judaism that we could not have provided. We have also been met with enthusiasm and acceptance in our own traditions — I recommend TBOP to families of all faiths.

I love the Friday Shabbat service for the preschoolers, and I love that Zemer Lexie teaches the kids Hebrew words and songs. Also, I love how the school celebrates the Jewish holidays and teaches the kids about them at their level. I believe our son is learning the Jewish traditions in a casual, fun way.

As parents in a mixed marriage raising Jewish children, we needed to find the right combination of celebrating Jewish traditions but still understanding everything else out there. Louie and Gus are getting not only the beginnings of an understanding of their Jewish heritage but everyday lessons in how that tradition mixes with others to everyone’s benefit.
